• Address Labels - those free address labels you get in the mail. 
  • After sun lotionlike a moisturizer. If you burn, the only remedy is Aloe.
  • Air fresheners (Febreze)/matches (or a cheap butane lighter which is safer on-board the ship) to leave it in the bathroom These take away the any unpleasant odors.
  • Alarm clock you can see at night. 
  • Backpack or tote bag - A collapsible backpack that folds up over itself and zips into a tiny capsule for packing to carry into town. OR toss an extra zip up duffle bag into your luggage and stuff with treasurers or dirty clothes upon return. 
  • Binoculars - especially for those days at sea
  • Book to read by the pool, on the balcony, on the beach or plane.
  • Camera - extra batteries/film/memory sticks or a disposable camera.   Or purchase a cheap digital camera if you don't want to take your expensive one and possibly lose it. 
  • Cell phone - You will be roaming in International waters. Get a temporary international plan.
  • Clothes pins or heavy duty plastic clips from a dollar store. Used for hanging items in the shower
  • Comfy shoes and sandals
  • Credit Cards - notify your cc company that you will be out of your home country for a few days and may be charging on your card.
  • Cruise tickets
  • Ear plugs and sleep mask - if you prefer to sleep in, the mask can extend the dark a bit; ears plugs are good for close quarter snoring
  • Extra swim wear - while the other gets a workout in aqua or sol.
  • Hangers Fold your clothes with the clothes on them (the freebie ones from the dry cleaners). Leave them behind when you depart. 
  • Jewelry - It is best to wear NO JEWELRY when off the ship. Two reasons for that: not all of the ports of call are as safe as we would like; it puts you into a much better bargaining position when negotiating a purchase.
  • Large scarf/shawl - (instead of bulky jacket) to throw around your shoulders for Caribbean evenings on ship and dining rooms. 
  • Laundry detergent - Small boxes or zip lock bag
  • luggage - One large per person and one medium for taking your embarkation/debarkation cruise day clothes and valuables. Be sure you have a lock and you may want to add colorful ribbon (virtually every suitcase on the ship is black) for easy ID at the end of the cruise. Don't pack your valuables (jewelry, cameras) in your luggage. Keep them in your carry-on or on you when you leave your luggage at the port or outside your room (locked with an approved TSA lock) on your last night.
  • Medications (regular) - Always take a few extra days worth.
  • Medications-seasickness/ginger candy - (check the medications with your doctor). Many cruisers have reported ginger candy as the universal remedy. You can get candied ginger, chocolate covered and tablets at most grocery stores. Other options: Bonine, Dramamine or seasick patches.
  • One dollar bills for tipping off the cruise ship
  • Over-the-door shoe bag & ”j” hook - Useful to hold small items and hang due to limited counter space/a valet hook for the shoe bag or steaming your clothes. 
  • Passport and other ID’s. A PASSSPORT IS REQUIRED. Make a photocopy and put in your luggage and with fellow travelers as back up & emergency. Leave a copy of passport & significant ID with someone at home.
  • Plastic trash bags/mesh bags/foldable hamper (from the dollar store) - for your dirty clothes. If you don't want to bring the hamper home leave it.
  • Power Strip - if you bring lots of electronic gadgets that need to be re-charged
  • Steamer or a Wrinkle Releaser -  for eliminating wrinkles 
  • Sun block and hat- The Caribbean Sun is the strongest in the world. Use SPF 15 or higher
  • Sunglasses-
  • Telescoping walking stick handy for excursions
  • Travelers Kit (travel size): the basics: 100% Aloe, Spray on Band-Aid, antibiotic cream (Neosporin), aspirin (for sunburn), hydrocortisone for bug bites and itches; Tums/Rolaids (these can save a vacation); Baby wipes/Handi Wipes (these serve a couple purposes-particularly "ship-crud"). Dissolvable soap sheets for the shore excursions (for places where you can't find a restroom). Mini-rolls of toilet paper & toilet seat covers for less-than-sanitary conditions. Stain remover sticks, Febreze (it gets the stink out of the room), Bar soapwhile there is usually soap in the cabins, one may be comfortable with ones own personal body cleanser.   • Valuables - Don't pack your valuables (jewelry, cameras) in your luggage. Keep them in your carry-on or on you when you leave your luggage at the port or outside your room on your last night.
  • Walkie Talkies. Some love them because we can keep track of the kids and my DH.
  • Water/water bottle - For those who are finicky about water taste, bring a Brita water bottle. It has a filter in the cap and can be filled with ships tap water
